Wallace was last seen at her residence in Grants Pass, Oregon, on February 1, 1998. Her father called police after he was unable to contact her for several months. Her husband never reported her as missing and said she simply disappeared when asked. A search of the property showed that Catherine left behind her purse, clothes and pictures she normally had with her. When searching her husband's belongings, law enforcement found her social security card and driver's license with her picture cut out of it. Later, the family van was found abandoned in Redding, California. Two guns that were normally in the van were not located. The vehicle was abandoned because Catherine's husband said he could not afford to retrieve it. She may be the victim of a homicide. Her husband is the prime suspect in her disappearance.
