Vannatter has not been seen or heard from by family members or friends since October 2003. At the time of his disappearance, Vannatter lived on East 345th Street in Eastlake with his roommate John Caputo. Caputo is the last person known to have seen Vannatter. He has told detectives that he last saw Vannatter with a friend known only as "Mark". Caputo told detectives that a physical altercation took place at the East 345th Street residence between himself and Mark. Based upon information police have received to date, it is highly suspected that Vannatter became the victim of foul play.
