Verdecchia was last seen in the Bloomfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 7, 1962. Verdecchia had attended half-day classes at Immaculate Conception School. She went home to change and then ran an errand for a woman living in the old Martinique Apartments on Baum Boulevard.She was seen going into the apartment about 14.45. That was the last reported sighting of her. About 18.00 her relatives began looking for her, and they called police at 22.30. Foul play is suspected, but the case remains unsolved.
