Cynthia was last seen approximately 12:00 p. m. at her residence in the vicinity of the 700 block of 11th Avenue in Fulton, IL. She left the residence sometime between 12:00 p. m. and 10:30 p. m. that day. She left everything behind, her car, her wallet, even her jacket that she�d placed on the back of a chair in her apartment. At 10:30 p. m. , there was a fire in Wilkins' apartment. Fulton police and firefighters spent hours March 9 and 10 searching the apartment building rubble at 702 11th Avenue, and sent in search dogs to track Wilkins� scent. They found nothing inside, but the search dogs followed Wilkins� scent through downtown Fulton to the Mississippi River, near the foot of the North Bridge to Iowa.
